Happy Monday…who’s ready for the warm weather this weekend? If you’re up north like I am, you know I still have to pack a brolly.

Let me tell you how to tap into weather trends for your clients… you might be thinking, but Soph I can’t, I’ve got a jewellery client, or a finance client, well, you’re wrong. There’s nearly always a pain point or lifestyle link in every industry, you just need to tap into it.
Here’s what you need in your toolbox:
💕 Glimpse: For tracking real-time search demand. If searches for ‘frizzy hair in humidity’ are up? That’s your cue.
💕 Sourcee: Jump on weather-related journalist callouts — from heatwave finance tips to garden safety.
💕 Common Sense: If your client sells stairlifts and the UK’s hotter than Spain, frame it around heat safety in the home. It's not rocket science, it's just relevance.
If you’re not using the weather to guide your next pitch, content idea, or quote, you’re missing the easiest reactive win going.

Data sets you can use for your clients
UK 🇬🇧
If you’ve got clients in beauty, wellness, or consumer health — this data drop is gold.
The UK government just released updated import regulations for animal by-products (ABPs). It’s heavy on bureaucracy… but buried in the paperwork are some surprising consumer truths:
→ Pig bristles are still used in brushes (makeup, shaving, even toothbrushes)
→ Feathers and down are still widely used in jackets, pillows, and bedding
→ Gelatine from cows, pigs or fish is imported for use in supplements, sweets, and skincare
→ Beeswax? Common in lip balms and candles — but rarely labelled as animal-derived
→ Even biodiesel and fertiliser may come from high-risk animal waste
And here’s the kicker:
Most UK brands don’t legally need to tell customers if these animal products are used — unless there’s a health risk.
If your client is vegan, halal/kosher-friendly, or focused on ethical sourcing, this is a huge chance to lead with transparency.
Whether that’s updating product labelling, launching a new vegan line, or creating content that educates their audience — there’s a trust gap that needs closing.

USA 🇺🇸
US Baby Names data is always handy to have, especially is names become popular over the summer (think celebrity baby names for example) https://www.ssa.gov/OACT/babynames/
Germany 🇩🇪
Even if you don’t have a German client, this dataset is worth saving.
Each year, the Gesellschaft für deutsche Sprache (GfdS) analyses baby name data from over 750 registry offices — covering more than 90% of all births in Germany. The 2024 list is now out, and it’s full of insight:
Top Girls' Names (2024):
Sophia / Sofia
Emilia
Emma
Mia
Lina
Top Boys' Names (2024):
Noah
Matteo / Mateo
Leon
Luca / Luka
Paul
🆕 Theo entered the top 10 for boys, while classic names like Sophia and Noah held onto the #1 spots.
But what makes German baby name data so PR-worthy isn’t just the popularity list — it’s the strict laws around what names are even allowed:
→ Names must reflect gender (unless a second gendered name is added)
→ Names can’t be offensive, ridiculous, or overly unusual
→ Courts have rejected names like Borussia, Lord, Möwe, and Pfefferminze
→ Approved names include Fanta, Galaxina, and Cosma-Shiva
This makes Germany the perfect comparison point for UK or US parenting angles.
